Taking off to Denver

Flights to Denver Colorado are in Dubuque’s near future.

The Dubuque Regional Airport just received a 1.3 million dollar grant. This grant is a small community air service development grant.

This grant is a combination of funds from the Department of Transportation and Dubuque community organizations like the chamber of commerce, along with the city and the county of Dubuque.

The Dubuque Regional Airport applied for this grant back in July of 2019 and just two weeks ago received it.

Todd Dalsing Dubuque regional airport director discussed about how these flights are going to be beneficial to the business aspect of Dubuque.

Todd Dalsing Dubuque Regional Airport Director

“We encourage new business to come to Dubuque, but also retain the business that we have.  Additional air services have always been a demand from our business traveler.”  – Dalsing

This grant is going to allow the airport to hire employees, find an airline, and find a gate both in Dubuque and in Colorado to allow passengers to fly to and from Denver.

They hope flights will start taking off in July 2021.
