Visitation Hall Update

LORAS COLLEGE – Almost two months have passed since a devastating fire took the Visitation Hall.

With the end of the year approaching, students are wondering what is in store for the crumbling space. In addition to the building and belongings, there is one piece of the Vis that was lost in the fire which is often overlooked.

Former resident Sean Whitley reflected, “I haven’t been able to meet new people as much as I did in the Vis. The Vis I knew everyone on my floor and knew everyone on the second floor. The closer community was the best thing about the Vis.”

Regardless of whether the belongings and building are restored, the community formed by the Vis students will never be replaced.

Loras officials are currently working with the insurance provider and contractors to determine the worth of the structure and the future plans for the space. Stay tuned for more information to come.
