Two Onion Farm feeds tristate area
BELMONT, WI – Spring is in the air which means onions are in the ground. At least, they are at Two Onion Farm in Belmont, WI.
The community supported agriculture program provides organic vegetables and apples to over 400 people every year.
Farmers have begun planting for the summer season. Once harvested, the fresh produce will be packed into boxes and delivered to pick-up sites around the tri-state area.
Farmer Chris McGuire is happy with the amount of people interested in becoming members and says, “We have a really direct connection with the people who are eating our food and that’s really personally rewarding. We actually know and have met a lot people we are feeding. A lot of our members have come to the farm, they’ve seen us, they’ve seen where the food is grown.”
This small, five-acre farm delivers boxes to Madison, WI; Platteville, WI; Galena, IL and Dubuque, IA.
Additionally, Loras College will be a site where students, faculty, and other members can receive farm fresh vegetables.
