Rake-A-Thon raises money and awareness for Dance Marathon

Loras College Dance Marathon looked to rake in the funds with their first ever Rake-A-Thon.

On Saturday morning, over twenty students traveled around the Dubuque, Asbury, and even Illinois to rake lawns and gather donations for the University of Iowa children’s hospital.

“The money raised today will go in support of the Iowa City Children’s Hospital to help the kids and families, specifically in the Dubuque community as well,”

The volunteers worked from nine in the morning until about four. Taking advantage of the huge piles of leaves, students jumped into their hard work for a fun break. By the end of the day, Dance Marathon raked twenty lawns.
