Loras recognized as 13th Best Regional College

DUBUQUE – Loras College has been recognized as a top college in the Midwest.

Loras was named 13th Best Regional College by the 2016 U.S. News Best Colleges rankings. The ranking is based on factors such as high peer assessment score, first-year retention rate, and 2014 graduation rate. Nearly eighteen hundred colleges and universities are included in the 2016 edition. Loras was also named 10th Best College for Veterans.

President Jim Collins congratulated Loras on this achievement, however he also encouraged looking into other factors that make Loras a great school, “It is always nice to be recognized on these lists and in the rankings, but in the grand scheme of many considerations…it is important that families and prospective students look into other more consistent and valid measures in assessing the strength of any institution and determining the best fit for a student.”
