LCTV earns Overall Excellence as a news station from the Iowa Broadcast News Association

WATERLOO – LCTV attended the Iowa Broadcast News Association’s conference and awards ceremony in Waterloo, Iowa April 23 and won big.

Among many first, second and third place wins, LCTV was awarded first place for Best Newscast, Best Sportsca13106664_10208634970967328_486251936_ost and Overall Excellence as a news station, which are the biggest honors of the night.

The Iowa Broadcast News Association not only recognizes collegiate journalism, but also small, medium and large market journalism as well.

Among the awards handed out, three LCTV reporters also received scholarships from the organization. Kelly Kuboushek (’19) received the Grant Price Scholarhip, Joel Schmidt (’16) received the Dick Petrik Outstanding Student Award and Allison Wong (’17) received the John Bachman Scholarship.
