Greg Vance qualifies for Bass Master Classic

DUBUQUE – Loras College’s very own senior, Greg Vance, is making a name for himself in the world of bass fishing. Vance is one of only fifty-five people in the world who qualified for the Bass Master Classic, the biggest bass fishing tournament in the world.

Vance has been fishing competitively for about seven years, but for a guy from Iowa, he definitely never saw this coming. “I watched it as a kid online and on TV, and I wanted to be one of those guys. And here I am. I’m here.”

In order to qualify for the Master Classic, Vance first had to beat out 14,000 other anglers who make up the Bass Federation, since only six can move on to the tournament.

Not surprisingly, Vance says this experience is a dream come true. We wish him all the luck in the world as he competes in the tournament in March of 2016.
