Feeling the luck of the Irish this year?
The time is here again for the one and only St Pat’s Auction. For more than 55 years, Campus Ministry and service trip volunteers have been putting on this fun event for the college and the Dubuque community. The proceeds from the auction help fund the eight service trips Loras sends out every year.
This year, the action will take place at 5 p.m. Friday, March 11, in the ACC Ballroom. There will be delicious food available for purchase. Don’t worry, since the event is on a Friday, there will be Lent-friendly options.
What can you do to help the cause, you may ask? Here are a couple options:
What do you want to see auctioned off? The number one housing sign-up spot? Dinner with President Collins? Reserved seats for graduation? Tell us what kinds of objects or services you would bid for. Then, come and get it. It’s a win-win situation; you get what you always wanted, and you support our service trips, all at once.
Do you have anything you can donate? Often there are great items in our houses that we don’t use, but they could become somebody’s treasure.
Do you know any businesses? If your family or friends have a business, call them and ask if they would be interested in donating something. People always like to help.
What if you can’t do any of the above? If you knit, play guitar, paint or have any talent, let us know. People love when students share their gifts, and you could be a valuable asset for the auction.
Any questions, ideas, or donations, contact Laura Bohorquez Duque or Heather Jungblut.
