Dubuque police seek public’s help following cross burnings

DUBUQUE – The recent discovery of burned cross fragments in Dubuque has the members of the community begging for answers. Much like the hate crimes performed twenty-five years ago, many are praying for peace, and hoping that history doesn’t repeat itself.

Lieutenant Scott Baxter is confident that this one instance will not define Dubuque as it did in the past.

“I think we’re better prepared to deal with it, not that a community should ever have to or be prepared.”

With the public’s assistance, Baxter and the rest of Dubuque police are all eager to bring justice to the person or persons responsible for this heinous crime.
