CSA is coming to Loras soon
LORAS COLLEGE –
Farm-fresh vegetables without the farm is the idea behind CSA (community supported agriculture) and it is coming to Loras soon.
CSA is a coalition of community funded farms. An individual or group can purchase a share a CSA farm and every week will recieve a box of fresh produce from the local area. And starting this spring, any Loras student can purchase a share from the CSA farms, Two Onion and Small Family Farms.
You can then have your box of fresh produce delivered right to campus.
“It provides a great opportunity for people at Loras to be in a relationship with local growers. To get to know where your food comes from, who grows your food” says Stacia McDermott, who is one of the Loras Faculty trying to get CSA to come to Loras.
If you want to sign up to get your fresh fruits and vegetables delivered to Loras visit their website at www.csacoalition.org.
