Al Roker makes quick stop in Dubuque

DUBUQUE – There was a touch of television celebrity in Dubuque Monday night. NBC weatherman Al Roker stopped to deliver a very quick weather report.

The NBC Today Show star made his appearance as part of his “Rokerthon 2: Taking America By Storm” tour. After setting last year’s Guinness World Record for the longest live weather report, Roker is out this year to report the weather from all 50 states in the fastest time.

After running into a few speed bumps during his early Monday travels, Roker made his way to the Dubuque River Walk around midnight and was greeted by a group of dedicated fans to cheer him on while he did his report.

His tour will finish on Friday morning on the Today Show set in New York City.
