Winter Athletes Juggle Sports and Family

LORAS COLLEGE – It can be difficult as a winter sport athlete. While the commitment to play a sport is constant, so is the want to be with their family during the holidays.

“You want to be with both of your families.” says Brooke Prososki-Green. “You want to see your family at home, but you also want to be with your teammates. They become your second family because we spend so much time together on and off the court.”

Coach Justin Heinzen tells parents to expect phone calls before Thanksgiving. “They miss their family, we know they want to see them and we try our best to flex schedules to make that happen at the appropriate times.”
