Men’s Tennis Dominate the Spartans Sami Graff | March 23, 2017 | Sports | No Comments DUBUQUE – While it wasn’t quite warm enough for tennis outdoors, duhawk tennis took to the courts at the Alpine Tennis Club to continue their win streak this weekend, dominating the Aurora Spartans. Starting off the day strong, Jason Derby, Eric Zirzow, Kevin Murphy and Quin Cockerill all improved their records, winning their singles matches. Doubles would prove to be a success as well with 2 of the 3 matches taking the cake. Cockerill and Zirzow started off strong and continued to pound the court as they came off on top against Tom Asvarachan and Freeman Rosencrans of Aurora. But the dominate force on the team was that of Derby and Murphy, both dominating the court with their sixth win of the season 8-3. The men travel to Mankato, Minnesota this Saturday to face non-conference rival Bethany Lutheran.
