LORAS COLLEGE – On March 10th and 11th, four wrestlers took to the mats in LaCrosse, Wisconsin for the NCAA National Championships, in a chance to claim one of the top 8 spots as All-American.
Three guys walked away with that title, making it about 15 years since Loras has had that stat in the record books.
With three guys coming away with All-American Status, it’s no wonder why they would be excited.
“I just remember thinking, if I lost I’d be done, and if I won I’d have a couple more, and put icing on the cake,” says Junior Jimmy Davis.
But the excitement didn’t stop there for the team, placing 6th AND Head Coach Miller receiving Rookie Coach of the Year.
Head Associate Coach, Trevor Kittleson says, “Very well deserved, puts a lot of time in. I’m very grateful for him bringing me on to the program this year, being able to be a part of this.”
Even thought the season is over, these guys are super excited to get back out on the mat to see what they can do.
“We’ll pretty much have the same team and the same amount of fun,” says Freshman Guy Patron Jr.
Congratulations wrestlers and coaches. We look forward to seeing what you can accomplish next year!
