Time is flying, and so are tickets
Are you looking for an energetic and fun-filled night of music to end the semester in a bang? Are you looking for a way to relieve stress as finals approach? Well if you are, the annual spring concert is approaching. This year, Loras College Activity Board is hosting Timeflies on Friday, May 13. Timeflies includes elements of hip-hop, pop, electro, R&B and rap in their music. Their performance is aimed at getting the audience pumped up and dancing.
The performers, Cal Sharpio and Rob Resnick (Rez), started as a YouTube cover band who posted covers of popular pop songs every Tuesday. Since they started in 2010, their YouTube channel, TimeFlies4850, has almost hit 500,000 subscribers, and they have created three original albums. In September 2011, the band’s debut album, ‘The Scotch Tape’ rose to number eight on the overall iTunes chart and to number two on the iTunes pop chart within the first 24 hours of release. Since then, the band’s popularity has continued to grow.
Opening for them is another great band called The Ready Set. The Ready Set is a punk pop boy-band, and their most popular song is “Love Like Woe.” Since 2008, the band has released seven EPs and albums. Their most recent album entitled ‘I Will Be Nothing Without Your Love’ was released earlier this month.
Loras Students and the community are getting excited for this event.
“I am super pumped for the concert,” said junior Erin Weaver. She explained that she loves both of these artists.
The doors of the AWC open at 8 p.m, Ready Set takes the stage at 8:30 p.m., and Timeflies begins at 9:30 p.m. The concert is open to everyone for only $10 per person. Tickets can be bought through the day of the concert on the eCommerce website.
