St. Patrick’s party supports service trips Adrienne Pearson | March 15, 2017 | News | No Comments DUBUQUE- Loras students and staff tested their luck with a Saint Patrick’s Day celebration. For over 50 years Loras College has held it’s seasonal auction to raise funds for the many service trips they offer. But this year things were a little different. Rather than host a full auction, the students threw a party instead. They raffled out several items and gift baskets. Debbie Gross of Campus Ministry explained that the change was brought about by the changing economic climate. She said, “It seemed like we had bombarded them for so long, we decided to give them a little rest.” The fun didn’t end with the raffles; people who attended the event were treated to live music, Irish dancing, and shamrock shakes. The event raised over $4,000 for the various service trips.
