LORAS COLLEGE ANNOUNCES $5 MILLION DOLLAR CASH GIFT

DUBUQUE IA-

A $5 million cash gift from Loras Academy graduate William P. (Bill) Miller was announced by Loras College President Jim Collins (’84) this morning. In lieu of the gift the Academic Resource Center will be renamed the Bill (A ’52) and JoAnne Miller Academic Resource Center.

Miller’s generous gift will be used to update infrastructure on campus including Keane Hall, the Rock Bowl, and the Multimedia program space. Alongside campus updates the gift will be used to strengthen entrepreneurial updates.

Vice President for Advancement/Treasurer Mike Doyle, J.D. (’91) said, “Loras’ gift is in our commitment to forming and inspiring young people to become active learners, reflective thinkers, ethical decision makers and responsible contributors to the world. Bill’s gift will only enhance our ability to honor this commitment.”

Miller graduated from Loras Academy in 1952, and has had several relatives graduate from the Loras College.  Both Miller and his late wife, JoAnne, are natives of southwest Wisconsin, and have long considered the Dubuque area as home.  He now works as the CEO of LEDing EDGE Lighting in Camarillo, California.

A dedication of the Bill (A ’52) and JoAnne Miller Academic Resource Center is in the process.
