DUBUQUE – Little Free Libraries can be found not only in Dubuque but all around the world. The founder of the international book exchange stopped in Dubuque last week to promote the program.
The libraries promote literacy and the love of reading to the public by providing books for free. All that is asked is that when you take a book, you leave a book.
There are currently thirty two thousand little free libraries throughout the US and in over eighty countries. It’s estimated that over one hundred fifty thousand books are exchanged daily.
The founder of the Little Free Library, Todd Bol, said that they are currently trying to reach 100,000 libraries by 2017.
