DUBUQUE – Long lines, busy parking lots and carts may all be a thing of the past thanks to Hy-Vee’s new online grocery shopping service.
Manager of Store Operations Jimmy Armbrecht puts it simply; “You can now order your groceries from your couch.”
All it takes is for you to go to hyvee.com/grocery. You’ll need to login to your Hy-Vee account or create one. Then you can search and select all the grocery items you want. Once you are finished, simply click the checkout button and select the date and time you wish your groceries to be delivered or picked up at the store.
For people with busy schedules, this new service has the potential to be a real time-saver.
One Hy-Vee online grocery shopper says he and his wife use the service because they don’t have time to grocery shop after work.
“Me and my wife we don’t have time to shop after we got off work and get home and dealing with kids. So the night before we just put in an order, put what time – between eleven and noon – and came in and told them we were here and they loaded it into our car.”
There is just a small fee for pick-up and delivery orders under $100.
“Delivery is free if it’s over $100, otherwise it’s $4.95 and $2.95 for pickup,” Armbrecht explains.
Costumers can still use their fuel savers and rewards cards on the online service. Store coupons and weekly ads may also be viewed online.
Armbrecht says Hy-Vee is happy to be servicing the community in a new way.
“Anything to build the business and friends in the community.”
