Dubuque — Some of Dubuque’s young artists showed off their work this past friday.
Students from Senior and Hempsted High Schools displayed their art work at the Dubuque Area Arts Collective Friday evening. The exhibit showed off pieces done by both the beginner and advanced classes; highlighting a range of creative talents and artistic skills.
Alis Amoo, a Senior forgien exchange student talked with us about his experience with the art show. “It’s my first ever; it feels pretty good like when high school students put effort into something that’s this big in the community”. Alis told us that this was his first time taking a painting class and how he wanted to take this experience with him back home and try to have his own art show there.
The show included paintings, sculptures, and photography. There was also a stage for musicians to play for the crowd. The exhibit will remain open to the public until June 14th on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 to 4. For more info and to see some of the pieces check out The Dubuque Area Arts Collective Facebook page.
