DUBUQUE- New year but same old debate over whether or not to get the flu vaccine. With the health concern spotlights still centered on threats of the Zika virus, citizens are wondering if influenza vaccination should remain a high priority.
Reports of influenza already in the area along with the vaccine’s short lifespan are just a few reasons why healthcare professionals still recommend getting vaccinated.
Tammy Marti, Health Center Nurse at Loras College also explains, “The other thing is that the strains change and so you want to be covered for the new strains that might be circulating for the next coming year.”
Walgreens will be offering vaccinations at the Wellness Fair on October 19th located on Loras campus from 11-12:30 p.m.
