EAST DUBUQUE, ILL-An Illinois man has been charged with the murder of a missing teen from East Dubuque.
14-year-old Chyenne Kircher has been missing since October 2011. Local law enforcement were treating the case at the time as a missing person’s case but it ran cold. In March, local law enforcement reopened the case which now led to the arrest 40-year-old Terry Abbas. Abbas is Kircher’s former step-father and as of this week still resided with Kircher’s mother at their address of 480 Wisconsin Avenue in East Dubuque.
FBI and local law enforcement started searching behind the home earlier this week when they received evidence Kircher may be buried behind the family home. The Jo Daviess County Sheriffs Department released they have found human remains and an autopsy will be performed on the body as early as Monday morning.
Abbas is being held at the Jo Daviess County Jail on a one million dollar bond. His charges include 2 counts of first-degree murder and officials say they expect more charges later. Abbas is expected to make his first court appearance on October 2nd.
