UPDATE:  Dubuque police conducting death investigation

DUBUQUE – Dubuque police have now identified and arrested a suspect in this investigation.

Helmon Betwell, 19, of Dubuque was interviewed by police and admitted to assaulting the woman.

Betwell was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, sexual assault in the first-degree and two counts of third-degree burglary.

The victim’s identity is being withheld until her family members have been notified. Betwell

DUBUQUE – The Dubuque Police Department is conducting an ongoing death investigation.

Police responded to a disturbance Tuesday morning around 105 West 17 St.

A woman was found on the ground near that address with facial injuries.

The woman was then taken to the hospital where she later died.

More information will be released as it becomes available.
