DUBUQUE – In celebration of the holiday season, the Hotel Julien Dubuque held their annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 29th. The family-friendly event featured an appearance from Santa Claus and a performance by the Loras College Chamber Choir.
Preparing for the Tree Lighting Ceremony is a task that begins in August when the hotel’s sales team first selects the tree. During the week after Thanksgiving, the team then spends three days setting up, decorating, and lighting their Christmas tree.
General Manager of the Hotel Julien Dubuque, Dwight Hopfauf, has been overseeing this event for six years. “We wanted to create the hotel to be a traditional place for families to come back to and enjoy,” said Hopfauf.
To fulfill that goal, the team at the Hotel Julien Dubuque created the 12 Days of Christmas. Throughout this the holiday season, the hotel will host 12 holiday themed events including Breakfast with Santa, an Ugly Sweater Contest, and of course, the Tree Lighting Ceremony.
