Tom Stecher has knocked on 4,000 doors in the past six months. Stecher enjoys meeting people one-on-one to understand the issues in rural Dubuque county.
The Loras grad believes that education funding needs to be a priority.
Stecher stresses how “education goes hand in hand with economic development and job creation. The timing of the funding has left school districts not really sure with what resources they have to work with.”
Along with solving problems with education, the democratic candidate plans to doctor the problems with health care.
“There’s a lot of parents who have special needs children that are not getting the services that they are promised, and one of the first things we are going to have to do in the new legislative year is find out what it’s going to take to fix the problems that have resulted from this privatization.”
Stecher believes he is well qualified to represent the 57th district in the Iowa house.
“This is yet another way that I can give back to my community and provide service to the constituents of my district.”
