DUBUQUE – Finding family-friendly nighttime activities can be difficult, but a new event is making the search a bit easier.
The first ever Millwork Night Market kicked off on Thursday, September 7th. Over twenty vendors from Dubuque and the surrounding area turned out to create an evening farmers market.
Hundreds of people attended the event which featured local produce, arts, and crafts. Live music and hot food vendors were also available to visitors.
The event was planned independently by co-founders Andie Donnan and Danielle Stowell. In hope of bringing night life to the Millwork District, these local food enthusiasts saw the potential of the area.
“There’s not another location like this in town,” commented Stowell. “The warehouses are beautiful. Night life was the only piece of it that we thought could use something else. So we thought, local foods, local art. Night Market, why not?”
Organizers hope to make the Millwork Night Market a monthly event in 2018.
